01Who this applies to

This policy covers the website at gpadviewer.com and the tools hosted on it. By using the site you are agreeing to what is described here. If something below does not sit right with you, the honest answer is to not use the tool, and we would rather you knew that than be surprised later.

02Your controller data never leaves your device

This is the part that matters most, so it goes first. Gamepad Viewer reads your controller through the Gamepad API that is already built into your browser. Every button press, stick movement, trigger pull, and rumble test is processed locally on your own machine.

We never see it. It is not uploaded, not stored on a server, and not shared with anyone. When you export a session log, that text file is generated entirely in your browser and saved to your own device. We get no copy of it.

When you close the tab, that session is gone. There is nothing for us to keep, because the data was never ours to begin with.

03What we do and do not collect

What we do not collect

• No name, email, or account. There is no signup, so there is nothing to hand over.
• No controller inputs or diagnostic results, as explained above.
• No selling or renting of personal data to advertisers or third parties, ever. There is no business model here that depends on your information.

What is handled automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may record standard technical logs when a page loads, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. This is normal server housekeeping used to keep the site running, fix errors, and guard against abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

Edit this if it applies to you: if you run analytics (for example a privacy-focused tool like Plausible or Fathom, or Google Analytics), name it here and say what it measures. If you genuinely run no analytics at all, replace this note with a line saying so. Do not leave a claim that is not true.

04Cookies and local storage

We keep cookies to a minimum. The tool itself works without tracking you. If the site shows a consent banner, it is there to respect your choice rather than to harvest data.

Your browser may store small preferences locally, such as a chosen label scheme or deadzone setting, so the tool remembers how you like it between visits. That information stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

Edit this to match your real setup: list any cookies your site actually sets and why. If your banner only covers essential cookies, say that plainly. If you load third-party embeds (the Instagram reel on your homepage, for example), note that those services may set their own cookies.

05Links and embeds to other sites

The site links out to places like our social accounts, OBS guides, and a few helpful resources, and it may embed content such as videos or posts. Once you follow a link or interact with an embed, you are on someone else's property, and their privacy practices apply, not ours. We would encourage a quick read of their policies before sharing anything with them.

06When you contact us

If you email us about a bug, a controller you want supported, or an idea, we will obviously see your message and your email address. We use that only to reply and to improve the tool. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your details to anyone else.

07Children

The tool is built for anyone testing a controller and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we do not collect personal data through the tool in the first place, there is very little here that touches on age. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through our contact email, let us know and we will delete it.

08Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you, and to object to certain uses of it. The catch in our case is a happy one: we hold almost nothing. There is no account to close and no profile to erase. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, just ask and we will remove it.

09Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that changes how data is handled, we will update this page to reflect it. We will not quietly weaken these promises. The whole point of the tool is that it stays private, and that is not something we plan to trade away.
